A reprieve from the vertical frenzy that engulfs most of Hong Kong and Kowloon, The Ocean is situated within a swank Repulse Bay arcade aptly named The Pulse. Owned by locale restaurateurs Le Comptoir, this third floor dining room is framed in glass panels yielding panoramic ocean views. A wavy design inspired by breaking waves is infused with raw wood panels and natural stone accents. A series of tropical aquariums add an underwater twist that's contrasted by a rooftop terrace with lounge bar, Japanese soaking tubs and more modest cabanas perfect for a balmy Hong Kong afternoon.
The Food
A lunch and dinner menu of sustainable seafood from around the world offers omakase feasts as well as ala carte dining of sushi, sashimi and ala carte menu with selections of lobster salad topped with burrata, wild caught turbot with sweet potato puree or charcoal grilled sea bass with quinoa.
